Are we sure we still have one Nigeria? by Don Abiodun Odedeyi

I believe there is ‪#‎BokoHaram‬ side and the ‪#‎Nigeria‬ side...

These guys can't be moving Armour Personnel Carriers around in a state currently under State of Emergency OR is it that they have a new military weapon called INVINCIBLE use by Boko Haram that we don't know about?
Again, this is Wikipedia's account of our Military forces...
"The Nigerian Armed Forces are the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The military has active duty personnel in three armed services, totaling approximately 200,000 troops and 300,000 paramilitary personnel."
...I understand that we are big brother to the likes of Sudan, South Sudan, Liberia, Sierra Leone etc BUT we need more than the 14, 000 Defense Hqtrs said was deployed to ‪#‎Borno‬.
Eni ti o ba dake, ti e a ba dake (He who keep mute [about his challenges], is mute away [from possible solution].
That Borno is divided, to me, is an open secret. If this government of Nigeria believes media blackout on the true state of things is to ensure the unity of this country (not to encourage others from other part of the country to do same) then there is need for a change of government. we cannot continue to bask under incompetence and lies.
The same lies is what has brought us to this present situation.

NigSat-1, Nigeria's first satellite was launched into the orbit on September 26th, 2003 in Plestek, Russia as one of the five disaster monitoring satellites that form a network called the Disaster Monitoring Constellation.
Funny enough, NigSat-1 was supposed to last just 5 years (though report I got from that quarter said it's still working).

Nigsat – 2 and Nigsat – X, launched on 17th August, 2011 and was said to be capable of demography, like mapping and planning of population survey, census enumeration areas, mapping, planning and monitoring of rural and urban growth and also give advance warnings of natural disasters like floods, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and storms, mange oil pollutions, desertification, erosion, forest fire and deforestation.
Felix Ale "The image of our satellite is unique"
Head, media and corporate affairs of the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASDA) - Felix Ale said, “the two spacecrafts were integrated on the launch vehicle. NigeriaSat-2 after its launch will be the most advanced satellite of its kind in the global community. THE IMAGING MODE IS UNIQUE, due to the agility of the spacecrafts.
When news filter that the ground station cannot receive images from the two satellites, Felix Ale quickly jumped to the agency defense.
“Our facilities can receive images and monitor the operations of NigeriaSat-X. The engineers are currently doing telemetry, a process that involves sharing software with the satellites. The satellites are currently receiving all the software that we are sending to them.”
When I tried to access the official site for the Satellite agency, www.nasrda.gov.ng, the site was not functioning.
So our satellite's images cannot capture Boko Haram?

Lies, lies, lies

Last year, on my way to Abuja, I was caught in Kogi state capital, Lokoja, for more than 5 days due to overflow of the Niger river. What would have been the case if the satellite was used (either to predict or monitor the spread and direct Search and Rescue).

Lies, Lies, Lies.

Today, Boko Haram is dusting the effort of fourteen thousand gallant soldiers... Are we sure they are up to that number? In this age and time where ghost workers is a 'normal' income channel to evil top ranking officers.

The same tactics that is working for Delta State Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Hope Eghagha who racketed about 23,000 students’ bursary allocated to students of the state across the country... A young man, Ambrose Ezeanwani, ex-University of Lagos student, who exposed the fraud is presently languishing in Prison custody on order of the Delta State Magistrate Court.

In 2013, n938bn was budgeted for security. The breakdown goes: Defense n340bn (Army, Navy, Airforce), Police got n300bn (Command and Police Affairs), Interior was n151bn (Immigration and Civil Defence), NSA was n110bn (State Security Service), Quick Response n12bn, Internal Operation was n24bn.

For weapon procurement alone for 2013, the Nigeria Army budgeted 697.2million, National Security Adviser was n837.3million while the State Security Service budgeted n350million. For her birds, the Nigerian Airforce bought one MI-34/35 Helicopter for n286.46m and 6 MI-35m Helicopters for n1.87bn. Mind you, the MI-35m helicopters are multipurpose attack military transport helicopter for combat missions on day-and-night basis.

We have all these and you are saying we cannot annihilate about Boko Harams?

Lies, lies, lies...

In summary, satellite cannot capture Boko Haram, ammunition are not enough and 14, 000 contingent sent to Borno are inadequate.

Lies, lies, lies

Unless we are fooling ourselves, unless we have a rethink and change our ways; put budget money to use, unless we make examples of those who are pocketing money meant for all... Boko Haram is just the beginning of what will soon befall us all.
